James Berman Hunt

James B. Hunt, 85, of Pike Rd, AL, passed away at his home on May 22, 2025 following a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's Disease and dementia.  Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Sullivan Hunt; son Jimmy (Dorothy), daughters Elizabeth Hunt Fralish and Robin Hunt Boutte; grandchildren William Hunt Fralish, Sullivan Fralish (Elizabeth), Joel Hunt (Alea), Jay Hunt (Maudie May), Jeremiah Fountain (Raley), Josie Hardy (Chase) and Jarrod Fountain (Elisha) as well as two brothers Randy Hunt (Jo) of Leesburg, AL and Eric Hunt (Teresa) of Piedmont, AL, and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jay B. Hunt and Hazel Woodard Hunt of Piedmont, AL. Mr. Hunt attended Auburn University and retired from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources after a 53 year career as a civil engineer and Chief of Land Survey Operations. He was an avid Auburn fan who held season tickets for many years and never missed a game until his health failed him. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
