Janice Eloise Johnson

Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Van Johnson and her parents, Horace & Eloise Smith. She is survived by their three children: Michelle (Mark) Taylor, Cory Van (Stephanie) Johnson, Jennifer (Justin) Dixon; grandchildren Brady (Keira) Eiland, Trinity Eiland, Atley Eiland, Emmaline Grace Dixon, Emery Claire Dixon, Easton Van Johnson, and Russell Martin Johnson; great grandchild Blakely Marie Eiland; siblings Cindy (Tony) Finnell, Cleve (Kim) Smith; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Janice was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many. She was a long-time member of Catoma Baptist Church where she served in many capacities over the years. She was a faithful Choir member, singing many solos, working in the nursery, serving with the Food Ministry team, and for many years, a dedicated Deacon’s wife. Janice retired with 25 plus years of service to the State of Alabama, which led her to take on the role of “CFO” of Johnson Lawn Service.

Visitation will be held at Catoma Baptist Church on Monday May 19, 2025, beginning at 9:30 am, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Cleve Smith and Pastor Mike Golson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
