
Jerry Peacock, a hard-working, compassionate, and kind-hearted individual, passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on September 4, 1943, Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
In his early life, Jerry moved from Troy, Alabama, to Montgomery, Alabama, where he established deep roots and contributed significantly to his community. His career was marked by dedicated service in the US Air Force, where he achieved the rank of E3/Airman 2nd. Following his military service, Jerry retired from the Montgomery Fire Department, further exemplifying his commitment to serving others. He was also a devoted member of Eastmont Baptist Church.
Jerry was married to the love of his life, Mrs. Shirley Peacock, for 60 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family, including their daughter Tracy Pabalate and her husband Vince, two grandchildren, Megan Piel and her husband Blandon, and Hunter Pabalate and his wife McLain, as well as two great-grandchildren, Hadley Grace Piel and Lainey Ann Piel. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Glenda DeRamus. He was preceded in death by his father, Gillis Peacock; mother, Fannie Peacock; brother, David Peacock; and son, Ashley Dean Peacock.
Jerry's personal interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Alabama football, racing motorcycles, camping, riding his horse, and traveling. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature and the people he loved.
A visitation will be held on February 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 pm at the same location.
With burial immediately following in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
Jerry Peacock's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be cherished by all who knew him.
