Jimmy Dismukes

Jimmy Dismukes 1939 – 2013 – Jimmy Dismukes, 73, of Montgomery, died on May 14, 2013, in the care and comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Born in Fairhope AL, November 4, 1939. The happiest times in his life were spent with his family, children, and grandchildren. Known for his sharp mind and great sense of humor, he will be remembered by us as calm, patient, kind, and a generous person. He always cherished the conversation and a strong cup of coffee with two of his closest friends, Carmine Roberto and Mike Nolan. He proudly served his country in the military and was honorably discharged as a gunner’s mate second class petty officer in the United States Navy. Retired from the Montgomery Fire Dept. after twenty years of service, and also retired from the State of Alabama after nineteen years. He is survived by his wife Laverne (Cowart) Dismukes, and his five children: Rudy and Susan Martinez; Tony and Donna Dismukes; Mary and Chris Thaggard; Tina M. (Dismukes) and Roger Easterling; and Jimmy W. and Kim Dismukes. He has ten grandchildren, eight nephews, and thirteen nieces. Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel,Friday, May 17, 2013 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Burial Services will be at the Greenwood Cemetery.
