Joan Vennetta Harris

Joan Vennetta Burnett Harris age 88, passed away peacefully on Oct 20, 2022 surrounded by loving family. Joan was born Oct 27, 1933 in Alexander City, AL. In 1950 she married William M. Harris at the age of 16. As a couple they moved many times during his Air Force career, living in Florida, Nebraska, Ohio, and Georgia before finally settling back in Alabama. Joan enjoyed bowling, reading, watching Football, baseball and golf. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and traveling. She also loved flowers and butterflies.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Harris; parents Theo and Minnie Burnett, William’s parents RC and Jewell Harris, William’s brother and wife Carven and Janet Harris. She was also preceded in death by an infant son William and oldest son Robert Harris. She is survived by daughters Carol Chancey (Wes), Deborah Rodgers (Tony) and Brenda Langley and daughter in law Rita Harris; grandchildren Jennifer, Jaclyn, Jess, Jeremy, Mandy, Lindsey, William, Brad and Callie; and ten great grandchildren.

Services held at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery followed by burial at Rock Springs Cemetery in Jackson Gap, AL on Oct 27, 2022.
