Joe Robert Bell

July 14, 1947 - October 25th, 2025

Joe was born on July 14, 1947, in Ramer, Alabama to Johnnie Marcus Bell and Willie Thelma (Gamble) Bell. Joe graduated class of 1966 from Dunbar High School in Ramer, Alabama. He joined the national guard and then the Army after that. Joe moved to South Haven, MI after leaving the military. He married and was a wonderful father to four children Carla Bell, Steven Bell, Tiffany Bell and Monica Bell in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was also an amazing grandfather to 8 grandchildren. Destiny Lewis, Javier Lewis, Brooklyn Lewis, Ari Lewis, Ivory Gray, Jada Gray, Gabriel Hernandez and Kayla Adams. He is also survived by two sisters, Jeanetta Myricks and Juanita Green. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. And his devoted cousin Annie Jewel Bell.

Joe retired after 30 years from the Michigan Department of Transportation and was a devoted member of North Westnedge Church of Christ of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He then moved back to his hometown of Ramer, Alabama. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama. Throughout the years, Joe has touched countless lives by volunteering for the church, for close friends and family. He has received numerous awards, acknowledgements of achievement and recognitions over the years from all the efforts he dedicated himself to.

Joe had many hobbies and enjoyed being outdoors. He had the opportunity to travel to many places. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a longtime member of the American Motorcyclist Association. He dedicated a lot of his time volunteering for the church. He spent a lot of time with his daughter Tiffany Bell and his grandchildren. He was an avid lover of wildlife and planting various things. He enjoyed fishing and stayed busy with many different projects. Joe had an abundance of wisdom and good advice.

He will be missed tremendously and may he rest eternally in peace.

A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, located at 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL, 36109, on November 7, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue starting at 12:00 pm.

A repast will take place at Southside Church of Christ, 3388 S Hull St, Montgomery, AL, 36105, beginning at 1:30 pm on November 7, 2025.
