John Edward Blanche, a devoted servant, proud Marine, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Pike Road, Alabama. Born on October 24, 1964, at Stewart Air Force Base in Smyrna, Tennessee. John’s life was a testament to devotion, duty, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. His final days found him embraced by faith as he received his promised reward with his Lord and Master.
John’s early years in Montgomery laid the groundwork for an extraordinary life. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he carried the values of honor, integrity, and sacrifice long after his military service ended. Following his time in the Marines, John dedicated more than 20 years to the California Department of Corrections, where his sense of duty and compassion shone brightly. Upon retiring, he willingly returned to his roots in Montgomery, ready to invest in the community that molded him and to share his wisdom with others.
An avid golfer and cigar aficionado, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. But above all, he was a devoted father, brother, and friend—a man whose character was defined by selfless service and deep care for his fellow beings. His warm presence and sincerity touched many lives, leaving memories that will be forever treasured.
John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alfred Lee Blanche and Ella Mae McCree, and his son, John Allen Blanche, whose spirits remain a permanent part of his legacy. He is lovingly survived by his former wife, JoeAnn White, his children, Justine Olivia Blanche and Jeremy Adam Blanche and his two grandchildren Nathaniel Edward Blanche, Christopher Scott Tychewicz. Each of them carries forward his legacy of faith, service, and love—a legacy that will forever inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
We remember John not just for his career accomplishments or his many passions, but for the remarkable way he lived his life—a life of integrity, courage, and profound devotion. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the rich tapestry of his experiences and honor the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His absence is deeply felt, yet his memory continues to illuminate our lives with enduring love and inspiration.
May his soul rest in eternal peace and may we all aspire to live with even a fraction of the dedication and compassion that characterized his days on this earth.
