John Allen Knighton, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 with a visitation at Leak Memory Chapel at 12:30pm and a graveside service at 1:30 pm at Greenwood Cemetery. Dr. Jay Wolf officiating. John was a member of First Baptist Church and played the saxophone in the church orchestra as well as sang in the choir. He loved watching war movies and westerns, but he also loved watching Alabama Crimson Tide!! He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Knighton; and his parents, Fred & Irene Knighton. Survivors include his wife, Anita "Libby" Knighton; brothers, Wayne Knighton (Judy), Fred Knighton (Evelyn); sister, Jean Cauley (Robert); and step-daughter, Kelly Snyder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Center.
