John McNeill "Trey" Trotman III

John McNeill Trotman, III “Trey”, age 39, of Montgomery, AL passed away at his home Monday, January 23, 2017. He was the son of Terri Ashmore Trotman and the late John McNeill Trotman, Jr. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jay Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Trey is survived by his mother Terri Ashmore Trotman; fiancé Melanie Loveless; his paternal grandfather, John McNeill Trotman, Sr. “Bubba”; his children, Gracie Ann Ashmore Trotman, John McNeill Trotman, IV, Ivy Poyner and Preston Poyner, all of Dadeville, AL. Also, surviving him are his brothers, William Rogers Trotman (Jessica), and Andrew Gunter Trotman (Laura); his aunts Donna Troxel (John), Janet DuBose (Steve), Lorrie Jean Trotman; his uncles, Charles Rogers Trotman (Whitney), Robert Tyler Trotman, John Durent Ashmore, Jr. (Maria), William Lamar Ashmore (Jennie), and James Robert Ashmore (Sharron). Trey’s nephews, nieces and numerous cousins also survive him.

Preceding him in death was his father, John McNeill Trotman, Jr.; uncle, Frank Randolph Trotman, aunt, Kristine Pappas Trotman; paternal grandmother, Ellen Rogers Trotman; as well as his maternal grandparents, John Durent and Mary Alice Wagner Ashmore.

Trey’s passions were hunting, fishing and rodeo roping. He loved well and was loved by all who knew him. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.
