John A. Westcott Jr.

John Anderson Westcott, 88, a resident of Montgomery, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 5, 2014. He was born April 1, 1926 in Birmingham, AL. After a long and distinguished career, he retired as Art Director for Air University Review at Maxwell AFB. He was a devoted husband and father. He was married to Betty Lane Westcott and is survived by two loving daughters, Lane Westcott of Atlanta, GA and Melanie Westcott Reams and her husband, A. Scott Reams of LaGrange, GA. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps in World War II and a member of the Marine Corps League. He was past president of the Society of Pioneers of Montgomery and Old South Historical Society. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery. He especially enjoyed his friends in his coffee group. The family would like to acknowledge the friendship and support of Mary Cobb. Visitation will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 9 at Leak Memory Chapel. Graveside service will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at 12:00pm. Pallbearers will be Andrew Gerachis, Duncan Campbell, Charles Campbell, Jaime Rodriguez, Allen Perdue and Paul Pierce. The members of his special coffee group will serve as honorary pallbearers.
