Johnny Preston Sewell, formerly of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the age of 61. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, and then took pilot lessons and joined the Civil Air Patrol. For over 30 years, he enjoyed volunteering for the CAP, and attained the rank of Lt. Colonel and Squadron Commander. He worked for AECOM and traveled worldwide. He was a devoted father and a hard worker. He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Sewell and Patrick Sewell; grandchildren; and two sisters, Tina Lambing, Tammy Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny & June Sewell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Leak Memory Chapel. The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 10:00am at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery.
