My late husband, Bill Hoekenga, and I sang in the choir from around 1983-1991 when we moved to Dothan, and we loved Joe Pat. He was such an inspiration to both of us and  I’m sure he and Bill are up there singing together, along with several others.  There is no doubt where either of them is right now…in the presence of Almighty God!  I’m kind of envious!
I just happened to see this so I’m rather late expressing my condolences. 

My condolences for the loss of Joe Pat.  We worked together at Belk's some 50 years ago.

All family members, please accept our sincere condolences.  May your precious memories bring you comfort in this difficult time.  My late husband, Bill Patton, our son, Joseph and I always loved Joe Pat's selection of hymns.  They were the hymns I had sung as a child standing with my parents in our small country church in Eastern Tennessee. 
Joe Pat would many times, share his wonderful love of our Lord and Savior during the service.  He was very inspirational and one never had to wonder if he would be there each and every Sunday,  He and long-time pastor, John Ed Mathison, were good friends and had interesting stories to share regarding their time together at Huntingdon College.
He was a true servant of God.

I was christened in Frazier Memorial and have known & loved Joe Pat Cox for a lifetime.  He was a rock in this church & a wonderful friend to my family and me, as well as was his brother and mom and dad.  Thanks be to God!

Joe Pat was a giant of the faith, and so special to my family. Singing in the Frazer choir, under his direction for 4 years, was such a blessing to me. His faithful service to God is an inspiration to thousands. Well done, good and faithful servant! 

My sympathies to the entire JoePat Cox family. My family were JoePat groupies our entire time at Frazer and speaking for Esther, Robbie, Tammy and I we are deeply saddened by his death. We will miss his love and the joy he shared with us for many years. 

Oh, Joe Pat. I love you so. The most awesome choir director Known to man. The members of Frazer’s choir are so honored to have had you. What a privilege. Some of the best sermons I have heard came from this wonderful man of God, during a choir practice. And no one chose a better selection of music. Thank you for blessing us.

I sang in the Frazer choir from 1992-2000, including stints in ensembles Bread of Life and Good News Singers. Joe Pat was a mentor, a friend, and one of the finest men it has ever been by honor to know. Godspeed, Joe Pat, and save me a bass part in Heaven's choir.

Growing up in Frazier, he was like 2nd dad to me.  My favorite was the Sunday nights when He would let church members call out hymn numbers, and then we would sing the hymns.

Linda and I send our prayers and deepest sympathy to Joe Pat's family. I was privileged to sing in his choir for 20 years (1980-2000). Joe Pat was a man of God called to minister thousands thru music and he far excelled his calling.
