A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 9:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life service at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Kevin McDaniel.
Mr. Oliver is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, Nell Oliver; and his siblings Rick Oliver and Peggy (Marvin) Brown. He is survived by his sons Garrett (Debra) Crews and Mark (Aleta) Oliver; as well as 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Joe served in the Korean War and later worked as a draftsman. A talkative people-person, he loved music of all genres and was an amazing artist and draftsman. But he will be most remembered as a faithful follower of Christ who loved his family deeply. Pallbearers will be Tommy Guest, Travis Miley, Casey Hinson, William Little, Daniel Kendrick and Melvin Spells IV. The family would like to extended their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Baptist East ER for their compassion and help.
