Joseph Byron Summerlin

Joseph B. Summerlin, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. Known to those who loved and adored him as Jo Jo, he never met a stranger and was friendly to everyone he met. He loved to spend time with his family and and even from a very young age could make everyone laugh and entertain them. He grew up in Montgomery, and spent many years in the wholesale flooring business; and was a former owner of Fashion Floors. Jo Jo loved sports and through the years, he officiated high school and college football and basketball games throughout the state of Alabama.

Left to cherish his memory and all the fun times are his beloved wife, Tonja Summerlin; his children, Jody Summerlin (Billie), Kim Barwick, Amy Summerlin, Chad Green (Brandi), Nick Green; grandchildren, Josh Summerlin, Rachel Gnemi, Charity Montague, Blaine Green, Mackenzie Green, Athens Green, Lizzy Cate Green; siblings, Glinda Hansel (Joe), Donald Summerlin (Betty), Jerry Summerlin (Terry), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1:00pm at Greenwood Cemetery. You may join the livestream service on the Leak Memory Chapel Facebook page at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
