Joseph Isaiah Thompson

Born on September 22, 1938, in Montgomery, AL, Joseph Isaiah Thompson, age 85, passed away suddenly but peacefully following an unexpected admission to the Emergency Room at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, AL. Joe had been a resident of the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home for the past three months.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery and a retired Montgomery Firefighter at the rank of Captain, Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years Emma Jean Thompson, his parents George Lesley and Pearl Todd Thompson, an infant son Allen Wayne Thompson, his brother Louie Frank Thompson, a stepson Gary Frank Kelly II, and his nephew Michael Wayne Thompson.

Joe is survived by his son Joseph Brian Thompson (Becky) of Wetumpka, a brother Lesley Wayne Thompson of Titus, his stepdaughter Suzanne Norsworthy (Rickey) of Montgomery, a step-grandson Gary Frank (Trey) Kelly III (Miranda) of Eclectic, Linsey Kelly of Eclectic, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 29th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Leak Memory Chapel. A brief memorial service from 2:00 to 2:30 pm will be held in the Leak Memory Chapel, followed by a private graveside service attended by family only.
