

Minister Joyce Leftwich of Montgomery, AL went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6th. She was a remarkable, God-fearing woman who lived a life of love, acceptance, forgiveness and peace. Minister Leftwich was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Simon and Marian Simon Sellman, her husband Edward Earl Leftwich, a granddaughter Jasmine Jackson, a grandson Norman Leftwich, brothers Ronald Simon and Roland (Rodie) Simon, and a sister Diane Simon White. She leaves to cherish her loving memories eight children: Marian Leftwich, Norman Leftwich (Cynthia), Shirelle Leftwich, Timothy Leftwich (Cynthia), Patricia Leftwich Phillips (Reginald), Joyce Leftwich Mays (Charles II), Renee Leftwich Terrell (Derrick), and Joseph Leftwich (Doris), and her “other son” Anthony Leftwich, 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, her siblings: Vincent Simon, Norman Simon(Yvonne), Jean Knight(William), James Simon, and Shirley Simon Gross; numerous nieces and nephews, two dear friends: Bertha Gaston and Eva Parker, and other precious family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and Friday, May 10th 8:00 am – 9:00 am. Celebration of Life will be held at Leak Memory Chapel at 9:00 am on Friday, May 10, 2013. Burial will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL and family will receive friends at 6 pm at the family residence.
