
Judy Wallace Cook, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2018. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Presbyterian Church, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. A private graveside service will be held in Piedmont, Alabama.
She is survived by her husband William J. Cook, Jr., daughters Vonda Cook McLain (Tom), Jennifer Cook Pace (Jeff) of Aiken, South Carolina, and Jill Cook Bryan (Chris); five grandchildren—William Thomas McLain (Ashley), Samuel Wallace McLain, Ashley Hugh Pace, Wallace McGehee Bryan, and Christopher Hinton Bryan, Jr.; her brother George A. Wallace (Betty) of Piedmont, Alabama, and her sister Martha Wallace McAlister of Northport, Alabama; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Eunice and George Wallace, her sisters Claire Wallace Davis, and Lovina Wallace Holden.
Judy was born in Piedmont, Alabama on November 30, 1940. After graduating from Cherokee County High School, she attended Jacksonville State University majoring in Elementary Education. She married her beloved husband William Cook in 1959 and they moved to Auburn in 1963, where Bill continued his education. They moved to Montgomery in 1969, where Judy became active in civic and charitable works in the Montgomery community. Among other activities, she was a loyal member and officer of the Montgomery Thespian Club and the Merry Weeders Garden Club. She was also a member of the Berean Sunday School Class at Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Montgomery Symphony League, a Mayo Legacy, the Auburn University Samford Society, and the 1856 Society. Above all else, Judy was a faithful Christian, devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.
