Born Judy Eloise Bailey on August 16, 1943, in Selma, Alabama. She was raised in McWilliams, Alabama by her widowed mother, along with her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Youngblood, Sr.
Mrs. Pugh attended Moore Academy in Pine Apple, Alabama where she graduated in 1961. She later moved to Montgomery, Alabama where she met and married her loving husband, Joe.
Mrs. Pugh was a member of Hope Hull United Methodist Church where she attended for over 40 years. She was a dedicated 23-year employee of the Montgomery Teachers/Tri-Rivers Federal Credit Union; who loved her work family and its many members.
Mrs. Pugh faced many personal challenges through the years from serving as a military wife during Vietnam, the death of her first-born child in 1968, as well as devastating house fire in 1983. Through all life’s many trials, she always persevered with a strong love of the Lord and her family.
Mrs. Pugh was known well for her love of cooking, especially her banana puddings. She was her happiest when feeding her many family members and friends. Her most gracious gift was how she always considered others and their needs ahead of her own.
We, the family would like to give special thanks to Diane Thornton and Yolanda McQueen for being such devoted caregivers. Our appreciation is also extended to Deena Schrader, Wallace Sadler, Estella Blevins, and the many other staff members of Kindred Hospice who provided such wonderful care during this time.
