Kathryn Louise McPherson

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1957, Kathy grew up in Hayneville, Alabama, where she was a member of the Hayneville Presbyterian Church. She attended Lowndes Academy, graduating from high school in 1975. After high school, she attended Troy State University where she played on the Troy State Tennis team for three years and was also a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She also attended Auburn University where she graduated in 1979 with a degree in Early Childhood Development and Psychology.

Kathy spent several years teaching elementary school at Ft. Deposit Academy before taking a job with the Alabama Department of Mental Health in Montgomery, Alabama in 1985, where she was an administrator. She spent 25 years at the mental health department doing what she loved to do, helping others.

Kathy is survived by her parents, Charles Hamilton (Hamp) McPherson and Louise (Julian) McPherson of Hayneville, Alabama and two brothers, Charles (Chuck) Hamilton McPherson, Jr. and his wife Becky of Birmingham, Alabama and Patrick (Pat) Eugene McPherson of Burnt Corn, Alabama; two nieces Sara Denton McPherson and Alexandria Ann McPherson and one nephew Charles (Charlie) Hamilton McPherson, III.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 10, 2010, at 2:00 at the Hayneville Presbyterian Church. Burial to follow in Hayneville Cemetery.
