Laura Wilson Pope

Laura Muriel Wilson Pope of Montgomery, Alabama, born December 27, 1920 and passed away on September 8, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Pope, parents, Ocie Mae & John Harvey Wilson, brothers, Ed, Charles, John, James and Tommy Wilson, sisters Mary Frank Swaringen and Betty Huff. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Pope Welch and Sandra Pope Hayes of Montgomery. Grandchildren, Todd Beasley, Brian (Jennifer) Welch, Jeff (Jamie) Welch and Ashley Rhodes (Randall). Great grandchildren, Grayson & Sydney Kate Welch, Damaiyas, Cameron, Alonna , Lowen, Davi, Kamorian, Tristen & Jackson Welch, Zoey & Piper Rhodes . She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her special caregivers, Angela Moody and Lisa Lawley. Graveside services will be Friday, September 15 at 1 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Chaplain Bill Tucker officiating. Visitation will be from 11:45-12:45 prior to the service at Leak Memory Chapel. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews; Brian Welch, Jeff Welch, Todd Beasley, Barry Huff, Jimmy Wilson, Larry Wilson. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dr. Dave Welch Memorial Foundation at 2525 Bell Road, Montgomery, AL 36117 or a charity of choice.
