Lee Frank Roper

Lee Frank Roper, age 90, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Lee was born November 13, 1931. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Mae McQueen Roper. Mr. Roper is survived by his wife, Arlet Marshall Roper; his daughters, Cordie Cabiness, Tracey Turner and Tamara (Alfred) Thomas; his son, Keith Roper; his brother / best friend, Jerry (Sandra) Arceneaux; his sister, Carlyne Rivers and his sister-in-law Lendera (Larry) Bickham; his grandchildren, Larry Turner Jr., Amanda N. Turner, Jamasha I. Turner; as well as many nieces and nephews, Revolia (Emmanuel) Huffman, Linda (Samuel) Canada, Stella (Kevin) Hampton, Brenda (Taylor) Barnette, Benard Rivers Jr., Larry D. Rivers, Reggie (Bridget) Rivers), Keith (Michelle) Moore, Sylvester Moore, and Brockley (Leeann) Moore.

A faithful member of University Church of Christ, Lee enjoyed bowling, fishing and boating. An avid golfer, he played in many tournaments with a variety of personalities. He fought as a Marine in the Korean War where he received a National Defense Service medal. As a civil servant, he continued to serve as a housing supervisor on the base.

A family and friends visitation for Mr. Roper will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a a celebration of life graveside at 11:00 AM at Eastwood Memorial Gardens, 7500 Wares Ferry Rd., Montgomery, AL 36117.

Pallbearers for Mr. Roper will be: Patrick Penigar, Reggie Rivers, Charles McCree and Edward Witherspoon. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
