I just heard today of Lewis's passing. I am so sorry. I met Lewis in the early 90's when I became a member of the FBC Broadcast Team. Lewis was my first mentor. I then became acquainted with Virginia when I was enrolled in her Sunday School Class. I thought the world of them both. I have often thought of them from time to time. Such a loss to the community and FBC. Lewis was certainly a wonderful person.

Lewis was one of the true gentlemen of our times. It was a privilege to have known him. Virginia, be comforted in knowing Lewis' exemplary life was an inspiration to so many people.

Dear Sweet Virgina, Pat called to tell us about Lewis because she knew how much you meant to our family during the years we were at FBC.  What wonderful memories we have of all your family. Those were such good years and we treasure our time with you there. Our love and prayers to all of you,  Juanita and Ellis Bush and family.

I first met Lewis when we both worked on the second floor of the Air University building on Maxwell Air Force Base.  I knew immediately that I had met a true Southern Gentleman - a great Christian, a wonderful gentleman and a friend.  In fact, Lewis made a friend of everyone he met - he was just that kind of person. And he loved his fine wife, Virginia, so much.  It just seemed right to always see Virginia with Lewis and see the love of two great people.  First Baptist Church has lost a great and faithful member but Heaven is an even greater home with Lewis there.  Melvin and Dolores Cooper received

Lewis and family, know that your father's love will always be in your hearts and his memories will comfort you each day, know that others have you in their prayers. May God bless and keep you in his care always.

To  Ms. Virginia, Nancy , Lew and all his family, we offer our sincere condolensces on Mr. Lewis's passing. He was a very kind man. He was a great neighbor and friend. Lewis Figh was never too busy to lend a hand when needed or offer a word of encouragement. May the wonderful memories of him soon overshadow the sorrow and grief of your loss.

I loved "Mr. Lewis" so much.  He will be missed.

Although we didn't know your father, it is obvious that he was a man with tremendous character and integrity.  He did a great job of preparing you to continue that legacy. Mr. Figh and his beautiful family are one of the fondest and blessed memories I have of my early years at FBC.  I know he will be truly missed by all who knew him!

Lewis Figh was a Christian gentleman and was loved by all. He leaves a enviable legacy. He led by example. We are blessed to have known him. May God surround Virginia and the family with comfort and peace during this time of loss.

Lewis glorified the Lord in everything he did, covering every detail.  He cared deeply for God, his family, friends, and all mankind.  Our family is richer because of his influence.
