Lillian Elizabeth Wilkinson

Lillian “Lil” Elizabeth Morris Wilkinson, the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 3, 2025 at 3:00p.m. after a long, courageous battle with several recurring illnesses. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 8, 2025 at 3:00pm at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL with Dr. Jay Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 2:00pm on the same day at Leak Memory Chapel.

Lillian spent the majority of her childhood in Mississippi and then she and her family moved to Alabama. She graduated from Wetumpka High School in 1957 and briefly attended Troy University before deciding to become a dental assistant for 30 years. She had other fulfilling careers after that, and each one was centered around helping other people. That’s the kind of person she was.

Lillian was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery where she regularly attended Sunday School, taught preschool classes in the nursery, and rocked babies every chance she could get. She didn’t just talk the talk–she also walked the walk. Her faith in Jesus was evident every single day. Some of her favorite hobbies included reading, coloring, drinking a cold Dr. Pepper, and yelling at the TV when Nick Saban wasn’t doing what she wanted him to do during a fall Alabama football game. She was always the first one to yell “Roll Tide!”

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Albert “Eddie” Wilkinson, her parents Sidney Brevard Morris and Mary Elizabeth Morris, and several cousins, other family members, and close friends. She is survived by her sister, Frances Janet Morris; her daughter, Libby Wilkinson Knighton; her granddaughter, Kelly Elizabeth Snyder, and several cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church Caring Center.

A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday April 8, 3:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel with a family and friends visitation held one hour prior to the service. A Graveside Committal Service will be held immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery.
