
Louise Burkholder McKimmon, formerly of Birmingham, Al was born in Roanoke, Virginia, and raised in Mobile, Alabama, the only child of Louise Ramsey Burkholder and John Howland Burkholder. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1951 and the University of Alabama in 1955 from the School of Business (one of only two women in her class) and was a member of Chi Omega sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Simpson McKimmon and her son, William Hunt McKimmon. She is survived by her daughter, Ann McKimmon Sikes (Griffin), Montgomery; son, David Ramsey McKimmon, Gadsden; granddaughter Claire Sikes-Clark (Zifton), Brevard, North Carolina and sister-in-law Mary McKimmon, Decatur, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Louise and her husband, Bill McKimmon, moved to Montgomery in 2012 to be closer to family. Bill passed away in 2016 after 61 years of marriage.
A lifelong Episcopalian, she was a member of the Church of the Ascension. Prior to moving to Montgomery she was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook for 45 years. She retired from Crestline Elementary School with many good friends and memories. Her time in Montgomery was greatly enriched by a treasured circle of friends with whom she played bridge weekly.
A memorial service will be held Friday January 12th at 11:00 at the Church of the Ascension, Montgomery. A service for interment will be held Saturday January 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Birmingham.

The family expresses special gratitude to Hospice of Montgomery and her caregivers Carol Lovejoy, Barbara Knight, Neda Knight and Shawanda Lovejoy for their loving care of Mrs. McKimmon during her final days.
