

Lucille Ledbetter Asbelle, age 85, formerly of Montgomery passed away peacefully at her home on February 8, 2023. As she completed her journey, she was surrounded by her loving family. Lucille spent her early life and childhood in Tallassee, where she was a graduate of Reeltown High School. She later moved to the Montgomery area to begin work as an Executive Secretary and later served as the Office Manager for the Whitley Hotel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clayton Asbelle Jr, her parents Harvey Ledbetter and Lillie Mae Oliver, her brother Harold Ledbetter and her son-in-law Kenneth Thomas.
She is survived by her devoted daughters Vicki Hall Thomas and Renee Hall Taylor; grandchildren Christopher Thomas (Eleanor), Brandi Barnes (Russ), Sara Thomas, Anthony Eastman, David Taylor and Lindsey Taylor; and great-grandchildren Mason Barnes, Chloe Thomas, Evan Thomas, Ace Eastman, Aiden Barnes and Aubryana Taylor.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Compassus Hospice of Troy for their kindness and the care they provided to our mother and grandmother in her final weeks.
A family and friends visitation will be held Wednesday February 15, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL. A graveside service will be held immediately following in Greenwood Cemetery.
