

Luther Eugene Reynolds, 88, of Madison, AL passed away Tuesday morning, February 23, 2016 at Huntsville Hospital Cardiac ICU. Luther was admitted to hospital a week prior suffering a heart attack.
Luther is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret (Eidson) Reynolds; five daughters: Cynthia Lee (Steve) of Birmingham, AL, Barbara Adams (Tom) of Madison, AL, Marilyn Lipper (Steve) of Griffin, GA, Charlotte McDaniel (Kevin) of Kissimmee, FL and Carol Brown (Larry) of Franklin, TN; eleven grandchildren: Will McIntyre (Sarah) and Laura Wales (Tim); Kirk Adams, Luke Adams and Robert Adams; Nicole Bell and Jesse Lipper; Ryan McDaniel (Kimberly) and Jennifer Alejandro (Alex); Lauren Brown and Madalyn Brown; two great grandchildren: Cora Bell and Liam McIntyre; sisters: Hazel Crenshaw and Carolyn Helton, sister-in-law: Kay Reynolds, along with many nieces and nephews.
Luther was preceded in death by: Parents: Thomas V. Reynolds and Charlotte Gussie Reynolds of Grady, AL; and Siblings: Mae McClendon, Olene Conley, Thomas Reynolds, William Reynolds, Leslie Reynolds, Carden Reynolds and Ruth Squires.
Luther enjoyed an active life of dedication and service to his country, community and family. In 1945 Luther began a successful career in the U.S. Army, during which he served in World War II, Korean and Viet Nam wars. He worked his way to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 and received numerous commendations and medals including the Bronze Star for his work as military supply officer supporting Army Aviation. In June 1975 he retired from the Army and was honorably discharged. Following retirement from the Army, Luther served several years as instructor in the Enterprise High School Junior ROTC program and later returned to Ft. Rucker, AL working in civil service.
Growing up in Grady, AL, Luther attended Ramer High School. He later received a bachelor degree in business from Troy State University and became licensed as a real estate appraiser, which he practiced part time during retirement.
Luther enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf, especially with his sons-in-law and grandchildren. Luther was a hardworking, dedicated Christian man who dearly loved his wife and family. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Montgomery and Enterprise, AL. He was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Madison, AL. He has had a lasting, positive impact on many people during his life. Luther will be remembered and missed by all who have been privileged to know him.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL. A viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service to follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
