Lydia was a free spirit with a heart made of pure gold. She was generous to a fault and would put others before herself even if it meant she had to go without. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, no matter the circumstances.
Lydia’s love for animals was apparent in all she did. She would feed any animal that showed up on her doorstep, even if and especially if she knew who that animal belonged to. Lydia’s babies were her animals and she was not ashamed to say that.
Her friends became her family instantly. If you ever met Lydia, then you know that first meeting ended with a hug and a laugh. And you could count on the fact that she would always be just a phone call away.
Lydia’s laugh was one of her best qualities….well, it was more of a cackle but it sure was contagious! She lived her life being happy, with an attitude filled with optimism. That laugh will live on in the hearts of those of us who loved her and were blessed to be loved by her.
Lydia is preceded in death by the absolute love of her life, Mark; her mother, Nina Edmundson; and dear friends, Bobby and Rehnea Strickland.
She is survived by her brother Richard Johnson’s and his wife, Ann; her sister, Rebecca Caminita and her husband, Randy; her sister, Dottie Boyack and her husband Joey; her sister, Nina Fayard and her husband, Maurice; her best friend and confidante, Shannon Price and her daughter Kaitie, affectionately known as “Kaitiedid”. She will also be greatly missed by John and Halie Oakley and their children, Mason and Charlene; Nicole and Justin Henderson and their children, Lillian, Heidilyn, and Adaline.
If you knew Lydia, then you knew love, and that’s the greatest gift we could ask for.
