

WOODALL, Lynda Knight, 63, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2011 after a brief illness. Lynda was born March 3, 1948 and grew up in Clayton, Alabama. She graduated from Huntingdon College and from Jones School of Law. Lynda worked as an Assistant Attorney General for 25 years before retiring in 2000. Upon her retirement, Lynda was praised for her many years of work in obtaining preclearance from the U. S. Department of Justice for Alabama elections and for her work in writing official Attorney General’s Opinions. Lynda was a person of great faith, confidence, and perseverance. She loved her family and was an avid, lifelong fan of University of Alabama football. One of her last wishes was to live to see the National Championship game on Jan. 9, 2012. Lynda remained a member of the Alabama State Bar after her retirement and was very active in church work at Frazer United Methodist. Preceded in death by her parents, James Henry Knight and Alice Street Robertson Knight of Clayton, she is survived by her husband, Elmer “Stormy” Woodall; Sister: Cherry Knight Conner and husband Thomas of Clayton; cousin: Judge William H. Robertson, IV and wife Keitt of Eufaula and his children, Molly Hedberg and husband Dr. Eric Hedberg, Alyce Street Addison and husband Billy, and William Henry “Bill” Robertson V and wife Leslie, all of Montgomery; cousin: Robert Smart Robertson and wife Margie of Dothan and his children, Robert Smart Robertson II of Birmingham, and Kathryn Martin and husband Seth of Charlotte, N.C.; cousin: Patricia Robertson of Montgomery; aunt: Ruth Knight Simpson of Dillon, S. C.; and many other loving cousins, nephews and nieces from the Woodall, Robertson and Knight families. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Wednesday, Dec., 28, 2011 at Frazer United Methodist Church Chapel in Montgomery with visitation beginning at noon with Rev. Roy Gambling officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Robertson, John Foster Robertson, Thomas Conner, Len Traywick, Jim Sanders, Billy Addison and Mike Talley. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee.
