

On Sunday, December 30, 2018, Madeline Potts Norred, 91, went to her home in heaven surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. Born May 28, 1927, she was raised in Evergreen, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Boykin “Jack” Norred; parents, Andrew Jackson Potts and Lottie Liles Potts; twin brother, Harold Monroe Potts; brother James Rudolph Potts; son-in-law Donnie Mims and grandson, Micah Andrew Veazey. She is survived by three daughters Margie Mims, Georgia (Terry) Veazey, Edith (Steve) Fuller, Grandchildren Kara Mims Huett, Justin Mims, Kevin Mims, Lacey Mims Swenson, Lottie Veazey Monroe, Luke Veazey, Hannah Veazey Fain, Lindsey Fuller Cook, Katey Fuller Free and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas Warren Potts and two sisters Barbara Potts Kamburis and Marilyn Potts Reeves and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 11 AM to 12 PM at Eastern Hills Baptist Church with a celebration of life service to begin at 12 PM. Dr. Rick Marshall and Rev. Larry Armstrong will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Mims, Kevin Mims, Luke Veazey, Victor Reeves, Marty Kamburis and Jarrod Cook. The family wishes to express their greatest appreciation to the staff of Crowne Healthcare who provided excellent care for our mother for 5 1/2 years.
