
Margaret Hodnett Dozier departed this life on January 24, 2014 at approximately 1:15 p.m. after a brief illness. She was born on February 25, 1924 in Langdale, Alabama to James Lemmie Hodnett and Ruth Lorene Calhoun. Margaret served her Country in WWII as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy from June 27, 1944 to May 4, 1946 as a secretary. She continued to use her secretarial skills working for the State of Alabama in several departments un-til her retirement in the early '80's. She married Isaac Terry Dozier on June 1, 1947 and was preceded in death by him and their son, Mark Wesley Dozier. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons Amos Brent Dozier, of Madison, Wisconsin; Ronald Terry (Laura) Dozier of Montgomery, daughter Debra Jean Dozier Hobbie and her husband Phil of Deatsville, Alabama, grand-sons Michael (Amy) Hobbie, and Matthew (Jill) Hobbie, brother Jimmie (Mel) Hodnett of Newnan, GA, sister-in-law Grace Dozier, nieces Glenda (Paul) Holland and Faye (James) Bagley, and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, ex-tended family and friends. Margaret was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church and was very fond of her Sunday School friends. She was a devoted mother whose courage and sacrifice was an inspiration for all who knew her. Humble in spirit, caring, intelligent, quick-witted, and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she will be missed by those who knew her and loved her. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Leak Memory Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
