Margaret Rose Gilbert

Margaret Rose Gilbert, 73, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama passed away on October 25, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Wetumpka, Alabama. She was born November 12, 1948, in Montgomery Alabama.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Lester Paul and Jewel D Gilbert. Brothers Earl Bonner Gilbert, Rufus Gilbert, Hyram Ucil Gilbert, Donald Gene Gilbert, Robert Lee Gilbert, Sr., and Chester Edward Gilbert. Sisters Elma Ray Thompson and Betty Jean Worthy. Sister in-law Darlene Gilbert and Brother in-laws Billy Joe Thompson, Sr., and Marvin Skipper. Nephews Billy Joe Thompson, Jr., Timothy Scott Worthy, Randy Gene Gilbert. Nieces Shari Ryals and Nikki Seamon.

She is survived by her son Jackson Worthy Gilbert, sister Barbara Jane Skipper. Sister in-laws Kay Gilbert and Dianne Gilbert. Nephews and nieces Christy Lynn Johnston (Johnny), Stacy Arlene Steinke (Steve), Troy Lee Patterson (Kathy), Bradley “Brad” Paul Patterson, Sr., Robbie “Robin” Ramona LaPorte (Tony), Kyrstin Robinson (Andrew), Austin Patterson, and Dylan LaPorte, Vicky Thompson (Al) Christopher Worthy, Cody Worthy, Chance Worthy, Diane Jackson, Lisa Dunn (Robby), Robert L. Gilbert, Jr. Faithful friend Ann Johnston. Along with a host of numerous great, great-great nephews and nieces, loving cousins, and friends.

Margaret retired from Baptist East Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama where she was a dedicated Switchboard Operator working her way up to Supervisor and winning Employee of the Year multiple times.

Aunt Margaret was loved by everyone who met her. She was the keeper of family stories and photographs. Although she was our aunt, in our hearts we loved her like a mother, and she loved us as her children.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Worthy Gilbert, Johnny Johnston, Andrew Robinson, Troy Patterson, Tony Laporte, Mike Alwine, Austin Patterson, Cody Worthy and Chance Worthy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 31, 2022, at Leak Memory Chapel, with Danny Loftin officiating. Family viewing will be held from 12:00-1:00, friends being received at 1:00.Graveside services will follow at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery.
