Margie Nell Smith Rolling, "Maw Maw", age 96, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at home with her loving family by her side. She leaves behind her faithful daughter and caregiver Brenda Koerner (Richard), her grandson Scott Koerner (Jenni), her great grandchildren Anna Marie Koerner Walker (Brandon), Andrew Koerner, her sister Betty Coburn and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Marvin Lamar Rolling, her daughter Patricia Rolling Thorne and five siblings.
She was a long time member of Highland Gardens Baptist Church where she and her husband and daughters were baptized together many years ago.
The old saying "cleanliness is next to Godliness" tells anyone that knew her that she currently has a proper seat in Heaven. Her love of keeping a clean and orderly house lasted until her last days as she was still dusting the day she suffered a fall. She was also a phenomenal cook. Every holiday, birthday and special day was celebrated at Maw Maw's house. Often, the meals included delicious vegetables grown in her and Paw Paw's large garden.
She loved God first and her children, grandchild and great grandchildren as she had a hand in watching after and raising all of them in some capacity. She also worked at a church daycare for several years and was loved by all and the parents. It is truly her lasting legacy.
