County, AL went home to live forever in the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3, 2018, at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmund Greene; beloved grandson, Brian Alan Dickert; beloved parents, Leland Wheat and Zettie Aslee Brazeal Wheat; beloved brothers and sisters, Hiram Wheat, Norman Wheat, Harlon Wheat, Essie Mae Wheat Hughes, Laynette Wheat Gibson, and LaVera Wheat Willcutt.
Mary is survived by her children, Gerry Dobbs (Sandy), Tony Dobbs (Kathy), Edwina Dickert (Alan), and Kathy McMullen (Scott); step-son, Robert Greene; grandchildren, David Dobbs (Wendy), Brad Dobbs (Leslie), Brittany Joyner (Jarret), Amy Dobbs, Melissa Dobbs Meredith, Anna Dobbs Brown, Chris Dickert (Ashley), Michael McMullen (Cheri), Hillary McMullen, Rob Greene and Jason Greene; 23 Great-Grandchildren; and siblings, Bessie Lee Windham, Hubert Wheat, Hulon Wheat, and Sue Wheat.
A loving most faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ with her beautiful blue eyes is now viewing Him face to face. She greatly loved her Lord, her Children, Grand-children, Great-Grandchildren, and her friends with her all. A very active member of her church throughout her years. An amazing lady of many talents, gifted a beautiful voice she used for singing gospel music as she played her guitar and piano, gifted a green thumb always making her vegetable and flower gardens produce abundantly, gifted as a seamstress and quilter that benefitted many in her lifetime, and a gifted crafter having created so many items shared with family and friends. A treasured beauty, a true Proverbs lady, and a most awesome role model for all who knew her. Mary Evelyn retired from Baptist Medical Center South's dietary department.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Leak Memory Chapel, with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00am at Leak Memory Chapel, Pastor Gary Taylor officiating and speaker, Toby Hughes.
