Mary Elizabeth Marler Moseley, affectionately known as "Butch" to all who knew and loved her, age 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 15, 2025. She was a strong, loving, and caring mother, wife, and friend. A resident of Pintlala, Alabama, Butch was a blessing to all who knew her.
Butch was born on July 1, 1940, in Montgomery, Alabama. She spent most of her life in the place she believed to be heaven on Earth, Pintlala, Alabama. She was a graduate of Montgomery County High School. She married her husband of 67 years, Pat, while he attended Auburn University and says that she should have an honorary degree for helping him complete his degree there. She and Pat built their home in Pintlala where she worked for many years at Newell Road Builders while raising her four daughters.
Butch was a member of Pintlala Baptist Church for over 65 years and served in many different areas of the church over the years. Her unselfish service was an example for all women, but especially her daughters. She was a passionate reader and a devoted Auburn fan, which brought her great joy as did caring for her many pets and birds throughout the years.
Butch was preceded in death by her parents Sybil Vinson and Robert Marler and her beloved grandparents, Erma and Henry Dunn.
She is survived by her husband, Pat, her four daughters, Pam Higgins (Mark), Paige Stringer (Steve), Patrice Wasden (Shayne), and Patti Moseley. In addition, she is survived by her six grandchildren: Mallory Stillwell (Will), Mollie Watson (Taylor), Mary Beth Jackson (Whitmore), Anna Shay Wasden, Moseley Higgins, and Mandy Stringer, along with her five great-grandchildren: Sheppard Watson, Vivian Watson, Allie Stillwell, Campbell Jackson, and Anna Charles Jackson. She is also survived by a brother Bert Vinson, and a host of wonderful friends.
Butch will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and her unwavering protective love. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Her family invites all who loved her to celebrate her life by remembering her faith, kindness, and the love she so freely gave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pintlala Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery Humane Shelter, or the Pintlala Baptist Church.
