Matthew Eugene Israel

He was preceded in death by his Father, Marco Israel and Brother Mark Israel.

Matt is survived by his son, Gene Israel; grandson, Gene Gene Israel; mother, Bonnie Israel; Sisters, Bonita Harris, Christy (Mark) Israel and Susan (Danny) Walters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who dearly loved him.

He was an employee of Comfort Systems for 25 years and was with Tillery Heating and Air for over 15 years. Matt was an avid bass fisherman and loved to hunt.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 5-7PM at Leak Memory Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from the chapel of Leak Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Greenwood Serenity Gardens.

The family requests that guests wear their Alabama shirts and jeans in memory of Matt.

Pallbearers will be Mark Kynard, Anthony Israel, John Sloan, Brian Brewer, Jimi Harris, Danny Walters and Gene Israel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Hines and John Simmons.
