

Nancy Ann Canterbury James, 77, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sweet friend has gone to be with Jesus, the One she loved so well. She was born on June 26, 1942 and has gone to be with the Lord on July 29, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Allen Kendrick James of Montgomery,Alabama; Their three children Kevin James, Jennifer James Burkhalter and her husband,Todd and Allison James Montjoy, and her husband Glenn. Her surviving grandsons are Quinton James Jackson Burkhalter(17), Christian William Andrew Burkhalter(16), Bishop Frederick Todd Burkhalter(13), and her granddaughter, Holland Anne Burkhalter(11). She is also survived by her brother, Frank Canterbury Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama, and his wife Betsy. Also survived by her brother-in-law Morris Reddick. She is preceded in death by her father Frank Canterbury Sr., her mother Ann Canterbury, and her beloved sister,Gayle Canterbury Reddick.
She met Jesus in January of 1977, and began teaching His Word right away. She served the Lord gladly with her many Friends. Her Sunday school class at Frazer Memorial Methodist, the OverComers, was a great love for her which she taught for 25 years. She had a great passion to share the word of God. She was a teacher in the Montgomery County School System and loved her many students.
We are honored to celebrate her homecoming in the life of a godly wife , wonderful mother, fun attentive grandmom and special friend. Her visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel (945 Lincoln Rd. Montgomery, AL. 36109) on August 2, from 5-7pm. Her Celebration Service will also be at Leak Memory Chapel on August 3, at 1:00pm.
