Palma Elizabeth Rutherford, 89, passed away Tuesday, November 19th, 2013, at Tennova Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Jefferson City, TN. Mrs. Rutherford was born June 30, 1924, in Oxford, MS, the youngest of seven children born to George and Betty Byars, all now deceased. She was married to John Rutherford of Montgomery, AL, on September 10, 1946, who preceded her in death in 1995. She moved to Jefferson City, TN, in 2005, where she resided until her recent illness and passing. Mrs. Rutherford is survived by daughter Linda Rosser (Bill), of Jefferson City, son Alan Rutherford (Pam) of Salisbury, NC, granddaughter Candace Crabtree of Jefferson City, grandsons David Rosser of Jefferson City, Jonathan Rosser of Carmel, IN, Kevin Rutherford of Salisbury, NC, Phillip Rutherford of Portland OR, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law Kenneth Earl Rutherford (Martha) of Norfolk, VA.
A graveside service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL, at 1:00 PM Friday. Leak Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
