

Polly Ann Brooks was 80 years old when she passed away at home on August 8, 2025 surrounded by family. Polly was born on September 17, 1944 and grew up in Luverne, Alabama with her mother, Frankie Thompson and siblings: Ouida Hudgens, Gene Thompson, and Larry Thompson. She married Arthur Charles Brooks and raised four children in Millbrook, Alabama. She worked in accounts receivable at Motion Industry for 25 years. She was an active member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church. Polly was preceded in death by her mother, Frankie Thompson, her brother, Larry Thompson, great niece, Brooke Hudgens, grandson, Christopher Schlotterbeck, and husband, Charles Brooks.
Polly is survived by her four children, Tony Brooks (Angela), Timothy Brooks (Rhonda), Deborah McCollum (Ron), and Cindy Powell; her 8 grandchildren, Tyler Brooks, Kyle Brooks, Jessica Web (Carvel), Heather Brooks, Andrea Hatchcock, James Schlotterbeck (Mary), Cortney Chancey (Josh), Haley Garmon (Dylan); and 6 great grandchildren, Rhyver Brooks, Luke Hatchcock, Carson Taunton, Griffin Chancey, Finley Garmon, and Wiley Garmon. Polly is also survived by her sister-in-law, Becky Sandland and four nieces, Kim Goree (Greg), Misty Brooks, Lorraine Thompson, Renae Lindsey (Patrick); three nephews Joe Hudgens (Phyllis), Mike Hudgens (Connie), and Kenneth Hudgens (Christine); and great nieces and nephews.
Though Polly is no longer here on earth with us, she chose to accept God’s gift of salvation and is resting in peace in Heaven with her Savior. She is also reunited with her brother, mother, niece, grandson, and husband. All who knew and loved her will truly miss Polly Brooks.
A visitation for Polly will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM. A committal in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens will conclude services. All services will be officiated by Rev. Eric Sutton.
