Quinton D. Allen Sr.

Quinton D. Allen, Sr. met his Savior face to face in the early morning hours of June 8, 2017. He was 98 years old. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 49 year; Lucille C. Allen, his sons; Douglas (Bonny), Don (Joann), Steve and two daughters; Karen Rogers and Leslie Britt (Charlie the dog!), his grandchildren; Jason (Crystal), John (Kerry), Alisha, Matthew (Carrie) and Tracy, and his sisters; Mary Francis Milligan (Richard), and Jean Crouch. He also has 11 great grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly. Quinton proudly served in the Navy during WWII as a Chief Petty Officer on the USS Sigsbee in 1942-1946.In the years after the war he co-owned a restaurant with his brother-in-law, worked as a machinist at DuPont Corporation in South Carolina, eventually finding his niche in sales. He was a Regional manager with World Book Encyclopedia from 1980-1988. But his favorite occupation and that which he excelled at was working as a Real Estate Business Broker in Montgomery, AL for 29 years. Quinton came to a saving knowledge of Jesus in 1973 and he served as President of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association in the late 70's. He was preceded in death by his father; Benjamin Franklin Allen, and mother; Mary (Patterson), and sibling; Dorothy, Valley, Nina, Letha, Evelyn, Sada and Tom. Also waiting to embrace him in heaven are his daughter; Cindy, and his granddaughters; Dara Chandler and Sara Rogers. Services are scheduled for Monday, June 12 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home with a Visitation at 10:00 am, a Chapel Service at 11:00 and a graveside to follow at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery with military honors.
