Robert Darrin Adams

Darrin was born to Robert Wilson and Glenda Bence Adams in Alexander City, AL on October 11, 1964. He was a member at Frazer United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL. He was also active in the Christian community that stood with him and was his lifelong support. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery in 1983.

Darrin dedicated his life to ministry at an early age. Darrin could be found serving the local church on mission trips, with Upward Basketball, and in the local children’s puppet ministry. Darrin was active in Touch One Life at a Time Ministry and Carpenter’s for Christ Ministry. Darrin once described himself by stating, “I am just me, a fun loving, caring person who just loves being around my friends and family.” Darrin was a friend to so many. He was kind and soft-spoken, he was always excited about serving others, and he always looked forward to connecting in relationships with others. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate his life and know that he is now at peace with God.

Darrin was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his parents, Robert Wilson and Glenda Bence Adams; his sisters, Michon Adams Main, Heather Adams, and Lynn Adams; his brothers, Stephen Adams, Sean Adams (Michelle), Nicholas Adams (Ann), and Jeremy Adams (Lyle); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Darrin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Byron and Mary Gregory Bence; his paternal grandparents, Max and Mary Lou Adams; his nephew, Connor Ian Patrick Adams; his uncle, Byron Bence; and his brother-in-law, Benjamin Gordon Main, II.

Visitation for Darrin will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 12:30 pm, at the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2 pm, with Pastor Jeremy Pridgeon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First UMC of Montgomery, Frazer Memorial UMC, or John Ed Mathison Leadership.
