

Lt Col Bretzer was a navigator in the USAF for twenty-five years, flying countless refueling missions and assigned to numerous stations throughout the world. Upon retirement from the Air Force Bob began a second career as an engineer for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, retiring after 10 years.
He loved to paint and was an avid reader, devouring numerous novels yearly. Primarily, he loved his family and was particularly fond of visits and conversations with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He often said, "the best day of my life was marrying into such a wonderful family." In reality, the blessing was ours.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Clara, son Ken Donaldson (Susan), son Danny Donaldson, grandson Danny Kerley and great grandson Blake Donaldson.
Left behind to honor his memory are his sister Karen A. Corrie (Brian), his niece Tracey Arnett, his son Ed Donaldson and daughter Kathy Kerley (Tom), his grandchildren Jeff Donaldson, Bryan Donaldson, Chad Donaldson, Randy Donaldson (Tiffany), Karrie Coulombe, Kelly Coulombe and Daniel Donaldson (Tiffany); his great grandchildren, Cole Donaldson, Brook Donaldson, Bonnie Dudley, Shelby Andrews (Will), Garrett Donaldson, Parker Donaldson, Isabella Coulombe, Audrey Coulombe, Lily Coulombe, Alecia Donaldson, Brody Donaldson, Sam Donaldson and Deacon Donaldson.
He will be sorely missed by a multitude of friends and family.

A visitation will be held at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109, on January 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery, Snowdoun Al.
