Rodney Thomas Posey

POSEY, Rodney Thomas age 76, a resident of Marbury, AL, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. A native of Collerine, AL, Rodney was born on October 4, 1938. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Frances Byrd; his parents, R.J. and Sadie White Posey; and a brother, Charles Edward Posey. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be: nephews: Mike Moorer, Edward Posey, John Moorer; Great - nephews: Daniel Patterson, Andrew Tittor, Nicholas Tittor; nephews-in-law: John Tittor, David Watlington, Marty Mingus; and friend: Eddie Olsen.

He is survived by three daughters, Betty (James) Talley of Montgomery, Linda (Billy) Gates of Atmore, AL, and Teresa (Bill) Sawyers of Moyock, NC; one sister Nera Jean (Claude) Posey Moorer of Prattville, AL, and one sister-in-law, Leah (Charles) Tietz Posey; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He also was very close to his six nieces and nephews, and eleven grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A special thank you to his caregivers Sara and Ethel and the staff of Prattville Health and Rehab.
