She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Irene retired from the State of Alabama with the Alabama National Guard as Executive Secretary to the Adjutant General.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, O.W. (Bill) Holmberg and Mable Carr Holmberg; grandparents, Hardie Carr and Roxie Royal Carr; and one brother, Robert Holmberg.
She is survived by her husband, James Dailey; children, Bill (Sandy) Cauthen, Lana Williams, Lara Williams McCorkie, Hardie (Sarah) Williams; seven Grandchildren; three Great-Grandchildren; brother, Danny (Linda) Holmberg; and sister, Linda (Ralph) Beasley.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Leak Memory Chapel. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00pm on Thursday in the Chapel at Leak Memory. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers to include: Jake Holmberg, Will Holmberg, David Royal, Mike Talley, Brad Macon, and Robert Dailey.
