

Sallilu Sport Griffin, age 82, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father, Willie A. Sport, her mother, Dora Mab Sport, her brother William Ausborn Sport, her first husband, Hiram Jardain Bell. She is survived by her husband, Louis Austin Griffin, her sons, Paul Dain Bell, Curtis Hayne Bell (Rene´), Joel Ausborn Bell (Barbara), Hiram Jardain “Buddy” Bell (Stephanie), and Louis Anthony Griffin (Liza), ten grandchildren: Gian, Gair, Gannon, Jack, Caitlin, Laura, Lindsey, Luke, Lincoln, and Dena; nine great grandchildren: Griffin, Alanah, Bennie, Lorelei, Gillian, Tays, Lyla, George, and Sport; her nephew William A. Sport (Brenda) and grandniece Taryn.
Sallilu was born July 14, 1933 in Dozier, AL to the late Willie A. and Dora Mab Sport in Crenshaw County having lived most of her life in Crenshaw and Montgomery counties. She was a full-time homemaker and loved cooking and making dresses for her granddaughters and was deeply committed to her family. She attended Landmark Church of Christ where she was loved by many. She passed away at home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held at her home, 8921 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36117 on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Landmark Church of Christ on Saturday, March 19, 2016 with Minister Buddy Bell officiating at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Special thanks to Hospice of Montgomery, and special thanks to Jenille Ball and Wendy Clements for their loving support. Pallbearers are Jack Bell, Luke Bell, Lincoln Bell, Gair Bell, Gannon Bell and Gian Bell.
