Sara "Margaret" Barnes Morgan

Sara "Margaret" Barnes Morgan age 96 of Montgomery, AL, passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born on October 11, 1929, and was a resident of Montgomery, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Benjamin Barnes and Sarah Elizabeth Dickey; her husband of 48 years, Harriel Edwin (Red) Morgan; her sister, Doris Browder; her brothers, James Barnes, Clifford Barnes, Charles Barnes, and George Barnes; and her grandson, Jimmy Glenn Perdue Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Perdue and Carole (Jim) Hutson; her grandchildren, Shannon Perdue Holmes, Christopher Brandon McDaniel; her great grandchildren, Kristina (Brian) Jackson, Tiffany (Jon) Morgan, Kelsie (Alex) Staats, Andruw Woods, and Kali Perdue; her great great grandchildren, Kodi Mancil, Jonny Morgan, Riley Jackson, Walker Morgan, Wyatt Jackson, and Jameson Staats; and her honorary grandson, Chad Springs along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret worked as a bookkeeper, and she retired in 1992 from the Montgomery Advertiser. She was a member of Christ Methodist Church, and she loved to read, crochet, and sew. Margaret was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Acting as pallbearers is James Browder, Robert Browder, Erick Morrow, Caleb Holmes, Chad Spriggs, and Wayne Barnes.

A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL, 36109 on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at the same location starting at 11:00 am; Graveside Service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
