Sara Frances Reeder

She was survived by her daughter, Sara Reeder Bone (Laird), Cecil, Alabama, her son, Spencer Dwain Reeder (Laurie), Ocala, Florida, her stepson, Eugene Paul Reeder, Montgomery, Alabama and five Grandchildren, Nicole Sansom (Tim), Nick Traylor (Tanya) Spencer L Reeder (Ben), Yancey Reeder and Chandler Reeder. She also was survived by five Great grandchildren Kate Prokop (Max), Belle Sansom, Christian Traylor, Gabriel Traylor, Virginia Traylor and she was pre-deceased by her great grandson Brandon Reid Traylor.

She was the daughter of Rufus Peacock, 1896–1935 and Eva Powell Peacock 1896–1985 and was the fifth child of 10 children. She grew up on a farm in Pike County, where she was taught the values of family, compassion, and self-sufficiency. After graduating Troy high school she moved to Montgomery where she was employed with the City of Montgomery. She began attending Capital Heights United Methodist Church in the late 1940’s.

After a brief courtship she married Eugene Sutter Reeder February 23, 1951. Together, the two of them raise their children and built their lives until his passing in August 1992.

Sara will be remembered for her warm heart and welcoming smile but most importantly her level of kindness that endeared her to all.

She will be greatly missed.

A friends and family visitation for Sara will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.
