

September 2, 1941 --- December 10, 2025
Sara Rebecca Weeks, age 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 10, 2025. She was fiercely independent and would staunchly advocate for family and friends to ensure they were always being treated with respect and kindness whenever the need arose. A resident of Opelika, Alabama, Rebecca was a blessing to all who knew her.
Early Life
Rebecca was born on September 2, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama, and was a proud graduate of Lanier High School, Class of 1959. She attended Montevallo University for one year before marrying the love of her life, Harold Dean Weeks, Sr., on October 1, 1960. After her marriage, she briefly worked for Alabama Power before they moved to Dothan, Alabama, where they built a meaningful life raising their children.
Career and Service
During her years in Dothan, Rebecca was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and volunteered with the Columbus Baptist Association. She worked at the Dothan Brace Shop before becoming an Insurance and Billing Specialist at Flowers Hospital. She then joined Southeast Cardiology Clinic, where she faithfully served for 35 years until her retirement.
Later Life
In 2017, after the passing of her husband, Rebecca moved to Opelika, Alabama, to be closer to her daughter's family. She attended First Baptist Church of Opelika and participated in numerous community Bible studies. She continued to enjoy studying Scripture and loved watching John Ed Mathison preach on television each Sunday.
Family
Rebecca was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Dean Weeks, Sr.
She is survived by her brother, Lee Francis Hardeman, and Laura Green Hardeman, both of Atlanta, Georgia; her niece, Shelly Celeste Hardeman, and Carl Paulson, both of Austin, Texas; her nephew Douglas Terry Hardeman and Nicole Marie Hardeman, both of Atlanta; and her great-niece Aila Marie Hardeman, age 6, and great-nephew Garrett Elijah Hardeman, age 4. Rebecca is also survived by her son, Harold Dean Daniel-Weeks, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; Ryan Daniel-Weeks of Atlanta; and her daughter, Sara Emily Weeks Phillips, and Randall Bert Phillips, of Auburn, Alabama.
She leaves behind two cherished grandchildren: Robert Adam Phillips, age 22, and Sara Gabriela Phillips, age 17, both of Auburn.
Legacy
Rebecca will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and her unwavering protective love. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Her family invites all who loved her to celebrate her life by remembering her faith, kindness, and the love she so freely gave.

A graveside service will be held on December 16, 2025, at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd. Montgomery, AL 36109.
