Scott died peacefully in his sleep from a diabetic coma at his home in Athens, GA. Scott was well known for having a kind, caring and loving heart, especially when it came to his family.
Scott is survived by a large contingent of Family & Friends, including his Dad & Best Friend, Jim Sherlock; his Mother, Jackie Carney & her husband, Reverend John Carney; his Older Brother, Jim Sherlock, Jr. (who he always loved, admired and aspired to emulate), &, Jim’s Wife Pam, and their Family, and Scott’s Nephew and Niece, Will & Elizabeth.
His Grandmother, Mary Wallace Sherlock, who he dearly loved and admired; his Aunt, Tomi Jo & her Husband Steve; His Uncle, Ike & his Wife Jennifer and their Sons, Hazen & Conner; his Cousins Tammy Worthing & her Husband Ken; and Luke Reaves & his Wife Taron, and his cousins Earl Granger, Mike & Bill Saunders.
His Grandmother Bitsy whom he loved dearly and made her laugh just when she needed it, his sister Morgan Lott, her husband Spencer and his nephew Wyatt Lott. He leaves behind his beloved best furry friend, Bentley. He has aunts, uncles, and cousins who will dearly miss him.
Scott was born and raised in Montgomery, later moving to Tallassee and to Wetumpka, where he graduated from Wetumpka High School and then earned his Degree from Troy University. He was an IT Professional and his employment took him numerous places, including Birmingham and most recently to Athens, GA.
He was a devoted student of the Bible and helped many people find the Lord. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a life-long, die hard Alabama Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves fan. He and his Dad spent many Saturdays reveling in hard fought Bama victories.
One of Scott’s proudest moments was earlier this year, February 14, 2021, when he was Re-Baptized and rededicated his Life to Jesus Christ. We are all comforted knowing he is at Home and at Peace in his Heavenly Eternal Home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
