Sybil Pitts Calloway, 99, a resident of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and formerly of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022. She was born on October 29, 1922 to the late Jack L. Pitts and Madora Valley Russell Pitts. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Ancil Nelson 1918-1969, and her second husband Blanton (Mack) Calloway 1918-1994
Sybil was a Member of Dalraida Baptist Church nearly 60 years and retired from Brockway Glass Company after 30 years of service.
She is survived by her children: Cornelia Nelson Hawk, Montgomery, AL; Julie Nelson Clark, Tallahassee, Florida; Deborah Nelson Meier, Ft Walton Bch., Florida; Jack Vernon Nelson, Acworth, Georgia; Billie Nelson Mize, Pontotoc, Mississippi; Amy Nelson Newman, Bentonville, Arkansas; 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.. Private interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
