Tanya Sue Enloe passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the age of 56. She was born July 16, 1962, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the second of four children to Dr. John Smith Enloe, Jr. (who preceded her in death) and Juanita Jeanette Buckley Enloe. She leaves behind three siblings: sister - Rhea (Hal) Wynn of Montgomery, Alabama; two brothers -Dr. John (Mariah) Enloe of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Dr.Vohn (Candy) Enloe of Troy, Alabama; ten nieces and nephews - James (Lindsay), Jacqui Wynn; Ella Rhea, Quinn, William, and Linnea Mae Enloe ; and Blake (Brooke), Brock, Brooke, and Britton Enloe; and two great nephews - Easton and Brodie Wynn.
Miss Enloe dedicated her life to education - serving as a public school Speech Language Pathologist for eleven years before moving into higher education. She spent the last twenty-four years of her teaching career as an Assistant Professor in the Valdosta State University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, teaching classes and doing clinical teaching and training.
Miss Enloe has been a faithful member of the church of Christ since the age of ten, and loved teaching pre-school Bible classes, attending ladies Bible classes and functions, and worshipping with the Dasher Church of Christ. Her courageous struggle with cancer, her continual positive attitude, and her peace with the outcome has been inspirational to many people.
A visitation will be held from 5 pm- 7 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Leak Memory Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at University Church of Christ with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery at Shellhorn in Troy, Alabama.
